Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the heart of the home. They are vital to our mission of providing a caring community that empowers pregnant and parenting women to take positive and effective action on behalf of themselves and their children. It is with your generous time and dedication that we are able to run such a unique, educational, and interactive program at Zelie's Home.

Regular Opportunities

The first step in becoming a regular volunteer is attending a Volunteer Orientation! The Volunteer Orientation is a brief overview of Zelie’s Home and the volunteer opportunities we have available. It’s a great opportunity to learn about our staff, moms, and babies. You will find the volunteer experience that is the best fit for you and see how your commitment can impact the lives of our mothers and babies. If you sign up for an Orientation, please don’t forget to fill out our Onboarding Paperwork using the link below! If none of the scheduled Orientation times work for you, please feel free to email our volunteer coordinator at volunteer@zelieshome.org to find a time that works.

One-time or Group Opportunities

There are many one-time service project opportunities. Help us to prepare a meal for our moms, beautify the house, pitch-in around the holidays, and more. Group sizes and volunteer dates and times vary. Please sign up with your preferences below, and we will be in touch soon. Thank you!

Serve Saturday

Every second Saturday of the month at our Garfield Heights location and every third Saturday of the month at our Lakewood location, the moms, staff, and volunteers come together to provide a clean environment for the moms and babies to live. It is a one-time commitment for volunteers that doesn’t require an orientation and is family-friendly. Each person is assigned a chore, and we work together until the whole house is clean! We will provide you with the cleaning supplies and refreshments. Please sign up below if you’re able to help.

Social Event and Holiday Opportunities

Every month Zelie’s Home hosts a social event for our current and alumni families to gather and connect with one another. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks before, during, and sometimes after these events to ensure everything runs smoothly. More information may be provided to you after signing up for one of our events below.

Donating a Meal

One of the simplest ways to volunteer can be done in the comfort of your own home! We need meal donors to help us provide food for our moms and staff to enjoy as a community during our weekly programming nights. Meals can be homemade or from a restaurant, as long as it can be dropped off by 5PM on your selected day. Typically, we need a donated dinner on Mondays at Garfield Heights and Wednesdays at Lakewood each week that can feed around 10-14 adults. You can choose to sign up once or multiple times by clicking the link to our Meal Train below! Additional information, such as any allergies and our address, will be provided to your email shortly after signing up. Creating an account with Meal Train may be required, but is fast and free to you! Another option to sign up is by emailing Bailey at bailey@zelieshome.org. Please provide your phone number for verification purposes and text 440-886-2620 if you have any questions. Thank you!

Donations Help

One-time volunteers and groups are strongly desired to aid our team with donations sorting and inventory. Volunteers are welcome to join us at our Garfield Heights location on Tuesdays and Thursdays and at our Lakewood location on Mondays and Thursdays. Interested in lending a helping hand?
